Christian Louboutin Velvet Matte Lip Color - Bengali

Some of you who are familiar with the world of makeup may be aware that Christian Louboutin has brought out a small makeup range of lipsticks and nail polishes. Famous for shoes, it has only been very recently that a line of makeup has been released. Out of all the makeup products, the lipsticks only really appealed to me andI have seen loads of really good reviews on them.

A warning, these are not cheap. A lipstick will set you back £60. Yep you heard me, £60 for one lipstick. Not even Chanel charge that much. I always said to myself even I wouldn't pay that much, until I kept seeing more and more reviews of them and thought I'm going to get myself one as they look so nice.

I got mine at the counter they have in Harrods. Not many stores in London sell the brand, I think Selfridges do too, not sure about other stores. I was told that they do different types of finishes, matte or satin. I chose matte as I like a really long lasting lippie. Bright colors are my must have color, so I decided to go for Bengali which is a really bright pink color.

This has to be one of the most fanciest packaged lipsticks ever. To start with you get a really awesome Christian Louboutin gift bag and then your lipstick is packaged in a lovely black box. The actual lipstick is very unusually shaped. It doesn't look like a lipstick and more like a fancy decoration or bit of jewelry. It is quite heavy too, so not practical to carry around in your bag with you. I wouldn't want to carry it around with me anyway, it's far too nice to do that and I'd rather keep it looking good in it's box.

Now for the actual lipstick. It's an awesome bright color and my camera couldn't quite pick up the brightness that well for some reason. It looks more of a brighter pink than the actual photo shows. It has this awesome soft texture to it that has plenty of pigment. Although it is a matte, it doesn't feel like one as it glides nicely onto my lips. In no time at all my lips had plenty of color on them and were looking lovely and bright. Once on, the color stayed on for hours and didn't really need reapplying.

Now this is an expensive item and I think one of the main reasons it is more on the high end price tag, is the packaging. It's very fancy and heavy at the same time. Not only that you are paying for a good quality lipstick and the designer name too. Overall I'm really happy with this lipstick and think it looks awesome. This is one lipstick I will actually be keeping the packaging of.
