NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder

I just love highlighters right now and I'm a very big fan of glowing skin. There are many different highlighters on the market right now and I just love trying out different ones. When I was shopping at NYX I noticed that they had these ones called Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powders.

They are available in 5 different colors and are described as a silky powder that blends like a dream for a fresh faced look. At £9 each the colors look amazing and the ones I got were - Twilight Tint (White Base With Blue Duo Chromatic Pearl), Lavender Steel (Soft Lavender With Pink And Lavender Duo Chromatic Pearl) and Snow Rose (White Base With Pink And Lilac Duo Chromatic Pearl).

Each color gave my skin this awesome glow and out of them all I didn't have a favorite as they all looked amazing. The pigment in them all was very good and they had this really nice soft blendable texture to them. I really don't like highlighters that feel chalky or powdery and these ones were the complete opposite and felt amazing to apply.

As the pigment in them was so good, I didn't need to use a lot to get them to show up and once on they didn't at all fade.

Highlighters are very popular right now. Have you tried these NYX ones?

NYX 4 Color Custom Palette

If you a regular reader of my blog you will know one brand I'm a fan of is NYX. I love their lipsticks and their eyeshadows are great too. One of the best things about their eyeshadows is that they come in regular packaging and also as refills. Having eyeshadows as refills allows you to put them in a palette making it a lot easy to carry colors around with you. It also saves on space too.

NYX make their empty palettes in 4's and 9's. I decided to get an empty 4 color palette and fill it up. I have many bright colors like greens and blues, so I decided to make my own brown shaded palette. The colors I went for were -
Club Crawl (Deep Taupe With Gold Pearl), Own The Night (Matte Violet Brown), Illusion (Shimmery Brown) and Top Notch (Pearly Red Brown).

Brown shades are very popular with many people as they are colors that suit almost everyone. NYX eyeshadows are very blendable and the pigment in them is very good. I created a few different looks with these colors and they also stayed on with no creasing or fading either.

If you haven't tried NYX before I highly recommend the brand as they have a superb range of products and colors.

Artist Of Makeup 4 Color Eyeshadow Palette

At IMATS in London, one of the brands I bought products from was Artist Of Makeup. I've tried eyeshadows from this brand before and loved the colors. The pigments are fab and they blend really nicely too, so I decided to get some more colors.

Now, the great thing about this brand is that the colors come in refills, allowing you to put them in an empty palette so all of the colors are together. I do like it when brands offer their products in refillable format, makes it a lot easier to carry the colors around with you.

The colors I went for were Starlight, Turkish Delight, Orchid and Glamorous.

Starlight, Orchid, Glamorous, Turkish Delight

The colors actually come with a warning on them - 'Caution - Highly Pigmented.' The packaging doesn't lie either. When they say highly pigmented, they really mean it. The pigment in these colors is insane. I didn't have to put a lot on my brush to get the colors to show up and they looked amazing on.

All of them had a nice soft texture to them which made blending a dream. Once they were on I found that they didn't crease or fade and stayed on until I took them off. I used Starlight as a base and highlighter color and then applied Glamorous and Turkish Delight on top. I then blended in Orchid.

I just love this brand as the colors are such high quality. I haven't seen this brand sold in stores, just at IMATS and online.

Benefit Dandelion Twinkle

I've been a fan of Benefit's makeup for years and my favorite product from them, is their Box Blushers. They have brought out many over the years and have even discontinued a few. So when I hear they are bringing out new ones I get really excited and one of their latest ones in Dandelion Twinkle.

You may be aware of Dandelion which is this pink colored blush. Dandelion Twinkle on the other hand is a nude pink powder highlighter. It comes in this awesome pink packaging with a design very similar to Dandelion, only the box is pink instead of green. It also comes with a brush applicator, although I prefer to use one of my blusher brushes to apply.

As this is a highlighter, the best way to use this is to put it on areas of the face such as cheekbones and nose. I applied my blusher color and then dusted some of Dandelion Twinkle on top to give my cheeks this awesome glow.

I just loved how this looked on, it's not too overpowering either and really does give your face a glowing complexion. The texture is great too and it doesn't feel to powdery like some highlighters do.

Kryolan Custom Eyeshadow Palette

At IMATS, one of the brands I bought products from was Kryolan. If you are not familiar with them, they are a professional brand of makeup and are well known within the makeup industry. When I was at college a lot of my products in my kit were from Kryolan.

The great thing about Kryolan is it is a brand that offers products such as eyeshadows in refillable format as well as regular packaging. The refills allow you to customize your own palette so you can have all of your colors in one palette to carry around with you. I decided to customize my own 3 color palette from a range of different colors. I love blues and went for the colors White, Cloud (light blue) and Blueberry (darker blue). White and Cloud were from the Matte eyeshadow range, whilst Blueberry was from Viva Brilliant Color.

As you can probably guess from the name Matte is exactly what it is - Matte. Viva Brilliant Color is an intense pressed powder with pearlescent effects.

I decided to put White in my palette as I love to use whites as highlighters and base colors for other eyeshadows. I loved the contrast of Cloud and Blueberry. The empty palettes that Kryolan do are great, although the one I had isn't magnetized so the colors do move around a lot especially if you turn the palette upside down.

All colors had a good amount of pigment in them and blended easily, considering two of the three were matte. Blueberry has a slight shimmer to it, so it blended a bit easier than the other two. I just loved how well you can build the colors up and all of them stayed on all day without creasing or fading.

Rodial Suede Lips

I love lip crayons, so when I was browsing the Rodial stand at IMATS in London, these awesome looking lip crayons caught my eye. I've never tried Rodial before so I was really interested to see what their products would be like.

The lip crayons come in a range of different colors and are called Suede Lips. Described as an intense matte lip color with vitamin E, the color I really liked was called Rodeo Drive and is an orange red color.

It glided on nicely to my lips and the color payoff was amazing. The pigment was intense and I didn't have to keep building the color up to get it to show. It felt really creamy to apply and didn't dry my lips out.

The color looked amazing on and stayed on for most of the day too, without the need to keep reapplying. I'm really glad I tried this one as I want to try more products from Rodial.
