NARS Erdem Collection

NARS have recently teamed up with fashion designer Erdem to create a limited edition makeup collection featuring products such as lipsticks, blushers, eyeshadow and more. I noticed this collection a while back when I was shopping and it really caught my eye, especially with the grey blue limited edition packaging.

Every item in the collection looks amazing and items that stood out to me the most were the blushers and highlighting pencil, so I grabbed those. At first I did like the lipsticks but they were really sheer so I gave them a miss.

Blushers
I got the two in the colors Loves Me and Loves Me Not. Loves Me is a strawberry pink with golden shimmer, while Loves Me Not is a soft lavender pink. Both were very pigmented and I found the best way to use them was to gently tap my brush into the color to avoid getting too much color at once. It's always easier to build the color up rather than try and tone it down. The texture of the two was really nice and soft, blending was very easy. Once on they didn't fade or need reapplying.

Highlighting Pencil
I was told by the staff at NARS that this product is quite unique to NARS as they haven't brought out a product like it before. I'm really into my highlighting and when I swatched it I knew I had to get it as it looked amazing. It's basically a crayon for your face and to use you just draw it on areas of the face where you want it to stand out. It's got a nice creamy texture to it, with plenty of pigment. I even applied it on top of powder and it didn't go patchy either.

I'm loving the products I have tried from this collection and think that they are very good. I'd like to try one of the eyeshadow palettes too.

NARS NARSissist Wanted Cheek Palette 2

I do love a good blusher and cheek palette and noticed that NARS have released two new palettes called Wanted. They come in two different shades, one lighter and one darker. I decided to go for the darker one out of the two called Wanted 2. The palette features coral, red and deep raspberry tones. I do love blushers that really stand out so when I saw this one I noticed it was right up my street.

In this palette are the colors - PYT (Metallic Rose), Ambition (Satin Tangerine), Taos (Soft Red With Golden Sheen), Exposed (Matte Dusky Rose), Penthouse (Matte Raspberry) and Queen (Matte Ruby). All colors are limited edition apart from Taos which can be bought as a color on it's own.

The colors in this palette are extremely pigmented which means you don't have to use a lot to get the color to show up. The best way to use the colors is to gently pat your brush into the color as a small amount really does go a long way.

All colors look great on the face and the shimmery colors give a nice glow. The matte colors looked great too and didn't feel at all drying and stayed on all day without fading.

Even though this is the darker palette out of the two new ones, the colors looked great on my face and weren't too dark for my skin tone either.

New Pink Lipsticks I Have Tried

Pink or pink purple is my must have lipstick color. The other week when I was shopping I decided to get some new products to add to my collection. I stopped at NARS, NYX and Urban Decay and found some colors that I just loved. Here is what I bought.

My first stop was Urban Decay and I noticed that they still had a lipstick from last year's Jean Michel Basquiat collection. I loved this collection when I saw it as the packaging was super creative and the colors on offer were just amazing. From that collection I bought the two eyeshadow palettes, but didn't get any lipsticks.

The color I got is called Exhibition is is this awesome medium pink purple color and has a comfort matte finish. I love how they packaging is themed to the collection too. The pigment is just insane and glides on easily. It may be a matte but doesn't actually feel like a matte. I do like the Urban Decay Comfort Matte finish.

NYX Super Cliquey Lipstick

At NYX I decided to get one of their Super Cliquey Lipsticks. I've seen these every time I have gone past the NYX counter and have always wanted to try them. They have a matte finish to them and come in a range of colors. They actually look like a marker pen and instead of twisting them like regular lipsticks, you press the bottom and the color comes up. The color I got is called Chain Reaction and is a bright berry color.

They have a good amount of pigment in them but can be drying and a bit uncomfortable to wear. The dryness can be avoided if you put a lip balm on first, but even then they can still feel a bit dry. They do manage to stay on for most of the day.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

At John Lewis, I stopped by the NARS counter and got one of their Velvet Matte Lip Pencils in the color Pussy Control which is a lilac shade. I tried these lip pencils some time ago and thought they were very good. They are more like a lip crayon and are very pigmented. Even though they are a matte they glide on very smoothly to your lips and stay on for most of the day too.

I've really liked wearing these colors as they look great on. If you love these sorts of shades, then you should get them too.

NARS Duo Eyeshadow - Montparnasse

Montparnasse is a duo eyeshadow from the NARS Man Ray 2017 Collection. It's one of two eyeshadows that were released for the collection and this one is shimmering gold with iridescent orchid.

The colors look great in the packaging and look even better on the eyes. I just love how pigmented it is too, meaning not a lot of product is required on the brush to get the colors looking very intense. Blending together is really easy too and once on they don't crease or fade.

The way I wore this was to first apply the gold all over my eyes. I then blended the orchid color into the outer corners to create the look I wanted.

The colors looked amazing. I have the other eyeshadow from this collection too - Debauched. Out of the two I like Debauched best as the colors look very dark and dramatic.

NARS Debauched Eyeshadow

I do love it when the Holiday makeup collections arrive and one collection I simply love is the NARS Man Ray 2017 collection. It's full of amazing colors that I just love to wear. One of my must have products from the collection is the Duo Eyeshadow in Debauched, which is a black violet, smoky charcoal with red shimmer.

As it is limited edition, even the packaging has Man Ray on it. For someone like me who loves dark colors, Debauched is right up my street.

The way I wore this was to first apply a primer. I love to use the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base and then put a shimmery white over it as a base color. I then applied the dark red all over the lid and then blended the darker color into the outer corners.

The pigment was intense with this eyeshadow and I didn't have to use a lot to get the color to show up. Once on, it stayed on all day too without creasing or fading.

So, if this Holiday season you are looking for gifts for any makeup lover, look no further than the NARS Man Ray collection. I got mine in Selfridges for £25.00.

NARS Bumpy Ride Blusher

The NARS Spring 2017 collection is now available and features products in some amazing colors. I was looking at the collection the other day and noticed this really awesome blusher called Bumpy Ride.   The color is described as being a shimmering candy pink. In the photo it looks really pink, but in natural light it looks more like a peach pink.

Like all other NARS blushers I have tried this one is really pigmented too. The texture is nice and soft and doesn't feel dry or powdery. The shimmer in it gives my cheeks a really nice glow too. The color is really blendable and buildable, although you don't need to use a lot to get the color to show up. I find it best to gradually apply the color. Building a blusher up is a lot easier than trying to tone it down, because you have applied too much.

This is a really awesome blusher and looks just as good on, as it looks in the packaging. Once on it stays on all day and doesn't fade. This is another great color from NARS.

NARS Sarah Moon Duo Eyeshadows

I'm a really big fan of NARS and I love it when they bring out a new collection. For Christmas this year NARS have released their Sarah Moon collection. For Christmas I got the two duo eyeshadows that were brought out for the collection. The two eyeshadows are called Quai Des Brumes and Indes Galantes.

Quai Des Brumes. Indes Galantes

Quai Des Brumes is an iridescent lavender with charcoal with gold shimmer. Indes Galantes is an iridescent indigo with mulberry. I just love these colors as they are really nice and dramatic.

Both colors were intensely pigmented and built up really easily. You can wear the colors on their own or blended together. With Quai Des Brumes I blended the colors together to create a unique look. I wore Indes Galantes a bit different and put the mulberry color all over the eyes and used the indigo on the bottom lash line.

These eyeshadows are great for me as I love my eyeshadow really dramatic. I was able to create an intense look with these colors. Out of the two, Quai Des Brumes is my favorite.
