The 12 Days Of Blogmas - Day 8 - Christmas Eve Makeup

As it's Christmas Eve, I decided to give myself a festive look using different makeup products. With so many different colors and products to choose from I decided to go for mainly golds, with a bit of purple too. This look was really easy to create and I'm going to show you what I used and how I created it.

Products I used

Face
Kat Von D Hydrating Primer Base
Dior Nude Foundation - 020
Kat Von D Lock It Concealer - L5
Illamasqua Concealer
MAC Blot Powder - Medium
MAC Blusher - Bad Girl Gone Good
MUA Shimmer Highlighter - Golden Scintillation
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

Eyes
NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette (Talk Derby To Me)
NARS Eyeshadow - Etrusque
Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner
Urban Decay 24 7 Glide On Eye Pencil - Goldmine
Benefit Bad Gal Waterproof Eye Liner

Brows
Makeup Revolution Pomade - Blonde
Benefit High Brow
Illamasqua Concealer

Lips
MAC Lipstick - The Enemy Within

So here is how I created the look. I always do eyes first as you will definitely get drop down, especially when using darker colors. I really don't see the point in getting your foundation looking great when all you will have to do is wipe part of it off to clear up any eyeshadow. It's much easier to do the eyes first. Also be sure to invest in a good set of brushes, as your tools are very important too.

I get my brow brush and applied the Makeup Revolution Brow Pomade to the brows and drew the shape I wanted. I then just filled the color in the with the same product. Be sure to highlight the brow bone using the Benefit High Brow Crayon and draw around the brows using Illamasqua Concealer to define the brows even more.

It's really important to use a good eye primer and I like to use the Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base by NARS. This keeps your eyeshadow looking good all day and stops it creasing. I can put my eyeshadow on early in the morning and it will still be looking good late at night. It also makes colors stand out more. In the inner corners of my eyes I applied NARS Etrusque and blended it out. I then went in with the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette, using the color Talk Derby To Me. I colored in the rest of the eye with this color and then blended it out. Using the Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner to create a sharp line on the eyelids. To get the look on my bottom lash line, I used the Urban Decay 24 7 Glide On Eye Pencil to create a gold look on the bottom, finishing off with my Benefit Bad Gal Eye Liner. Don't forget to smudge the liner too.

Now my eyes are done, I'm going to tell you how I did the rest of my face. I like to start with a base as this will make the makeup stay on longer. At the moment I am using the Kat Von D Hydrating Primer base which does a good job of keeping my makeup on all day. I also like to use a bit of concealer under the eyes as I do get dark circles. A liquid concealer such as the Kat Von D Lock It Concealer works really well. Once the under eye concealer was done I used Dior Nude Foundation all over my face to give it a nice glow and then finished with MAC Blot Powder. To complete the look I added a bit of blusher and also a gold highlighter to any areas I wanted to glow.

No Christmas look would be complete without a gold lipstick. I used MAC - The Enemy Within as it was a really awesome bright gold.

So there is my makeup look for Christmas Eve. It could be worn any time of year, but I think gold is a great color for the Holidays.

  1. What a fun Christmas look, I always do my first eyes first like you. I don't understand people that repeatedly do their foundation first to only have to fix it after
