Merry Christmas. I can't believe it is here today and i'm having such a great time opening presents and watching movies. This year I had some really awesome gifts and in this post I want to share with you what I got.

Did Santa bring you everything you wanted. What goodies did he bring you this year? Hope you all had a good Christmas.

NYX 9 Color Custom Eyeshadow Palette - Purples

I just love it when different brands bring out eyeshadows in regular packaging and also refills. NYX is one of those brands that recognize that us makeup artists like to customize palettes to allow for easy storage and portability. NYX offer a good range of good quality eyeshadows for a good price. 

There are two different types of eyeshadow they offer in the refill format - Prismatic and Hot Singles. I've never tried the Prismatic range, only the Hot Singles. I got only really well with these colors before so decided to get an empty 9 color palette and fill it with purple shades.

The colors I got were - Lolita (Matte Violet), Flirt (Matte Light Purple), Harlequin (Iridescent Purple), Epic (Iridescent Violet), Kama Sutra (Pearly Violet), Ultraviolet (Matte True Violet), Maneater (True Violet), Arrogance (Violet Smoke) and Moon Rock (Sparking Black).

Top - Lolita, Flirt, Harlequin
Middle - Epic, Kama Sutra, Ultraviolet
Bottom - Maneater, Arrogance, Moon Rock

The colors I chose for the palette can be worn on their own or blended together. I liked to use the paler colors such as Lolita and Flirt as base colors. I then layered the darker colors on top and blended them together. Both mattes and shimmers were great, very often mattes can be a bit dry, not these ones. Even though the mattes were good, the shimmers were better.

Blending was just as easy and all colors had plenty of pigment in them and stayed on all day without creasing. 

Purples are such great colors and these ones are no exception. The colors were £2.50 each and the empty palette was £4.50.

NYX Cosmic Metals - Asteroid Aura

I recently tried this awesome cream lipstick from NYX called Cosmic Metals. I decided to get another color in them as I got on really well with them. This one is called Asteroid Aura and is a magenta with silver shimmer.

The packaging is very similar to gloss and comes with a doe foot applicator for easy application. I'm not really a gloss person so I was really happy to know that the Cosmic Metals are actually a lip cream and not a gloss. The pigment in this one was fab and glided onto the lips nice and smooth. It didn't feel at all sticky either. Later on in the day it did need a bit of reapplying as some of it had come off.

As for the color, it looked amazing. I love the metallic look of these lip creams. These are perfect for Christmas parties. Purple is such a great color anyway, but this one looks lovely and metallic.

NARS Isadora Blusher

Isadora is described as a lavender pink blusher from the new NARS Sarah Moon holiday collection. This is the other blusher in the collection, the other one is called Impudique. I have that one so I as I really liked it, I decided to get Isadora too. The packaging is limited edition and says Sarah Moon on the front. This was £23.00 in John Lewis.

Like all other NARS blushers this one is very pigmented and has a nice soft texture to it. It applies nicely to the cheeks too and blends easily. This one looked great as it gave my cheeks a really nice glow. It also stayed on all day and didn't fade or need reapplying.

This one is limited edition so it won't be around for long. If you want one I would definately recommend buying one really soon. Merry Christmas.

I can't believe it's almost Christmas Eve today. That means tomorrow it's Christmas Day. Just one more sleep to go and it will be Christmas!! I've managed to do all of my shopping yesterday too, very last minute I know. I've always gotten excited for Christmas and this year is no exception. These past few weeks Christmas songs have been playing almost everywhere I've been, so in this post I am going to put my favorite Christmas songs of all time. So here goes.

MAC I Get So OOC Lipstick

At the moment I'm really loving the Mariah Carey makeup collection from MAC. I have the blushers and I really liked the look of one of the lipsticks too. The color I decided to get was called I Get So OOC and is a shimmering brown color. Brown lipsticks are quite fashionable at the moment and it is definately a color I like to wear on my lips. 

The packaging is limited edition too and comes in this awesome silver glitter and gold. I do like it when MAC brings out limited edition packaging. This was £17.00 at MAC.

Stamped into the design is a butterfly which doesn't fade as you use the color. I find it really annoying when brands stamp a design into the product but it goes and fades with use. This one is great as the butterfly stays there.

This one has a nice smooth texture to it, although it is a bit on the sheer side. I did have to really build the color up to get it to look intense. It wasn't a big problem, it just took a bit more work. My lips do get quite dry and this one doesn't dry them out once, which is another great thing about this lipstick. Later on in the day it did need a bit of reapplying.

On the lips the color looked amazing. I liked to wear this one colors like blacks, golds and browns on the eyes.
