For Christmas, Santa brought me a brand new lipstick from Chanel. The lipstick I got was from the Chanel Holiday 2017 collection. This collection was very popular and many of the products sold out very quick. Fortunately I was able to get one of the lipsticks and the great thing about them is they come in this limited edition red packaging.
Available in 4 different shades of red. I got No 2, which is a raspberry red with a velvet finish. The lipsticks are actually Rouge Allure lipsticks, the only difference being the packaging. To open you just push the bottom and the lipstick comes out of the red sleeve.
I do love a red lipstick. My favorite way to wear red is when having a neutral eyeshadow on. Red is one of those colors that will never go out of fashion. The pigment in this one is superb and it glides onto my lips like a dream. It also managed to stay on for most of the day without having to be reapplied.
My lips can get a bit dry and this one was very comfortable to wear too, plus it looked amazing on.

Chanel Le Rouge Crayon De Couleur - Cassis
I'm a big fan of lip crayons. I've been using them for years and many different brands - drugstore and high end offer them. Very recently Chanel have released their version of the lip crayon, it's called Le Rouge Crayon De Couleur and comes in a good choice of colors. The color I really liked was called Cassis and is this really awesome dark berry color. I got this one for £28.00.
Some lip crayons, to sharpen them you have to use an actual sharpener. With this one, no sharpener is needed as you just twist the bottom when you need to get more color. It's got a really nice creamy feel to it and is very well pigmented. I didn't need to use a lot to get the color to show up as the pigment was so strong.
I really don't like lip crayons that feel dry and this one was the complete opposite. The color stayed on all day too and didn't need reapplying.
This is a fab product from Chanel and I will be getting more of these.

Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation
I decided to try a new foundation as I was need of a new one and went for Perfection Lumiere by Chanel. I much prefer a liquid foundation to a cream one as I find that a liquid sits better on my skin. It does get dry, so a cream one always goes patchy on me.
The packaging is great as it comes in a good sized bottle with a pump, allowing you to take as much as you need out.
The coverage is medium to full and I find the best way to apply this one is with a flat foundation brush. Different foundations, I've found apply better in different ways. With this one I've found that the brush does make it go on a lot better. I'm not a fan of beauty blenders and buffing this one in is no good either. I do like a full coverage so this one is great for me.
The finish is matte, although I do sort of prefer a dewy finish. To make it more dewy I did mix my illuminator in with it to give it a bit of a glow. The color I got in this one is called 20 - Beige. It's just the right color for me and doesn't make me look at all orange. I do hate it when paler foundations end up being too dark and making me look like Madge Harvey from Benidorm. Seriously that woman is just too orange.
This did manage to stay on my skin for around 12 - 13 hours before it did start to go patchy. Throughout the day it did look nice on, but later on I wasn't really fussed on it when it went patchy. If you are an all day foundation wearer like me and love to wear foundation into the evening, I would suggest reapplying it to give a fresh look.
While this is a good foundation, I wouldn't say it was the best I've tried. I will continue to use it, but i'm not sure if I would re buy it.

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick - Extatique
The other day when I was shopping at Chanel I noticed this really nice pink colored lipstick called Extatique. I love my pink lipsticks and I love Chanel too, so I decided to get it. It's from Chanel's Rouge Allure lipsticks and is described as luminous intense lip color. Unlike other Chanel lipsticks I have tried, the packaging is slightly different. To get to the color, you press down on the top of the lid and the lipstick pops out. This was £26.00 at Chanel.
The color has an amazing amount of pigment in it and it doesn't need much building up to get intense color either. With two coats I got my lips looking this really nice pink color. I do get dry lips and this one didn't dry them out, in fact it felt nice and moisturizing.
It also stayed on all day too and didn't really need any reapplying. The color looked amazing on too. I love pink lipsticks.

Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush - Hyperfresh
I love anything Chanel, so for Christmas one of my gifts was Chanel makeup. I got the Joues Contraste Powder Blush in the color Hyperfresh. I love bright colors, so this one was perfect for me as it is a bright pink. It comes in that signature Chanel packaging along with one of those brush applicators. I never like using these as I prefer to use an actual brush.
This color has an amazing amount of pigment in it and has a lovely smooth texture to it, allowing you to blend the color out nicely. I didn't need to use a lot of product to get the color looking intense as the pigment was fantastic. Pinks are one of my favorite blusher colors to wear and this one gives my cheeks an amazing pink glow. It didn't fade either or need reapplying. Once it was on, it stayed on all day.

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick - Cecile
I got my makeup done at Chanel last week and picked up this really awesome lipstick. It's from Chanel's Rouge Coco range of lipsticks and is called Cecile. It's a neutral pink color and is very wearable. Most people will be able to wear this lipstick.
Although this one looks quite natural it is a great color for people who love dramatic eye makeup. I wore this color when I did a dark look on my eyes. This is one of those colors that can be worn as both part of a natural and dramatic look.
This one has plenty of pigment in it and has a nice creamy texture too. It's also great if you have dry lips because it is hydrating. I wore this color all day and my lips felt amazing, it also stayed on for most of the day and didn't really need reapplying either.

Chanel Harmonie De Blush - Sunkiss Ribbon
When I was trying out the new spring Chanel collection a few weeks ago I went for this awesome blusher called Sunkiss Ribbon. With some of the collections Chanel bring out, they often release an item with a limited edition pattern on it and for the spring collection it was this blusher.
It basically has 5 different colors in it - orange, bronze, coral, pink and bright pink. Now this is a blusher for those who love their color. Stamped into the blusher is the name Chanel.
There are many different ways to use the colors in this blush. I personally like to swirl my brush around in all of the colors to create one unique look. It is possible to use the colors individually too. There is an insane amount of pigment in this palette and you don't need to use a lot to get your color on your cheeks standing out. There is a bit of shimmer too which gives my cheeks a nice glow.
The texture is nice and soft too and is very workable. Once on it doesn't need reapplying as it doesn't fade.
Some brands that put limited edition designs into their products really don't make the pattern long lasting. Chanel on the other hand isn't one of those brands and the pattern on the product stays and doesn't fade. This blusher is no exception.
Unfortunately this is a limited edition item and has probably sold out. I got mine a couple of weeks ago not long after the collection had launched. By then some items had sold out already, so this one probably has now.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres - Tisse Beverly Hills
Earlier this month I got some items from Chanel's new spring collection. I had seen this collection for a while and was really looking forward to getting some items from it. One of my must have products was the Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow in Tisse Beverly Hills.
I love my blues and purples and when I saw this palette I knew I would have to get it. It's full of colors I love to wear and it is something I can see myself getting a lot of use out of. In this palette you get a shimmery cream, pale purple, turquoise and dark purple. For the lover of dramatic eyeshadow, this palette is a must.
I got myself this palette when I had my makeover at Chanel. I love the look the artist gave me and I was convinced even more that I should buy it. I was really lucky on the day as I had managed to grab the last one. Unfortunately this is limited edition and is probably all sold out by now.
You can create a look that really stands out with this one. I wore the shimmery cream as a highlighter and applied the pale purple as a base all over the eyes. I then applied the turquoise and blended the dark purple into the outer corners.
The colors have a fantastic amount of pigment in them and blend easily. They have a nice soft texture to them and felt like a dream to apply.
Once on the colors stayed on until I took them off and there was no creasing or fading.
Chanel make some wonderful limited edition items and this palette has to be one of my favorites from them.

Chanel Illusion D'Ombre - Ocean Light
The other week I got a few items from the new Chanel Spring collection. One of my must have items from the collection was Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre in the color Ocean Light. Bright colors are a must for me and Ocean Light is no exception. It's this amazing bright blue color.
The Illusion D'Ombre are these cream eyeshadows that have the most amazing pigment ever. They also have fantastic staying power which is quite unusual for a cream.
As you can see the color is really dramatic and stands out a lot. I love a blue that stands out like this, especially if the pigment is strong too. Creams can be tricky to apply, but I have found that the Illusion D'Ombre's are really easy to apply. It makes it even easier if you use a cream eyeshadow brush.
It doesn't take long to build the color up and in no time at all my eyes looked really intense. Most cream eyeshadows tend to crease even with a primer on underneath. Not these ones. I've tried a few of these ones before and once on they stay on all day and don't crease, budge or fade once.
I just love the Illusion D'Ombre range. The quality is fantastic and the colors look amazing too.

Chanel Spring Makeover and mini collection haul
Ever since seeing what the new Chanel spring collection would be, I knew I had to book myself in for a makeover to try it. I always think if you are buying quite a few things at once from a brand you may as well book in for a makeover with them.
Yesterday I went to the Chanel counter in Cardiff where I had my makeup applied by a makeup artist from Chanel. He basically showed me the new collection and asked what sort of look I would like. I really like it when people from the company actually do your makeup exactly how you want it. I've had makeovers with other brands before and they refuse to use colors I like, rather they use colors they think would look good.
I like my makeup nice and bright so I went for blues and greens. This collection is full of bright colors. To me it reminds me a lot of summer. Chanel must be the only brand i've seen so far this year bring out bright colors for a spring collection. It's definitely different and I do wonder what they will do for summer. I do hope they bring out something nice and bright too.
Here are the colors from the new collection that were used on me.
I definitely wanted the products even more after seeing them on. I'm definitely going to look forward to wearing them.

Chanel No 22
I love Chanel fragrances and for some time I have been wanting scents from their exclusive line called Les Exclusifs De Chanel. These are basically rarer scents you can only buy in certain locations such as Chanel boutiques. You won't find these at your average department store. In London, the department stores I have seen that sell these are Selfridges and Harrods. Some of the scents are called No18, No22, 28 La Pausa and Cormandel.
I was in London this week and finally decided to get myself one of these scents. They come in two different sizes - 200ml and 75ml. Be warned these are not cheap, Chanel fragrances can be expensive anyway and these are the most expensive ones I have seen. I got this one in Selfridges, in their perfume counter which is located around the corner from their main beauty department.
This scent was actually created for Coco Chanel and is named after the year of it's birth - 1922. The scent is really strong too and you don't have to use a lot to keep you smelling awesome. It also lasts quite a while even though it is an eau de toilette. I didn't have to reapply it throughout the day either. The scent is really floral, sweet and feminine.
The 200ml bottle is around £200. I got the smaller 75ml bottle which was £115. This is the most I have ever spent on a fragrance and i'm glad I finally managed to be able to get hold of this scent.
