Having hair like mine is a complete nightmare. Sure it looks very smooth and straight but it's hard work. One major problem, my hair is naturally curly and I just hate it.
In all of my photos my hair is nice and straight. For me natural doesn't suit me.
I'm sick of reading everywhere things like 'every woman wants and dreams of curly hair.' No they do not. And it really annoys me when people tell me my curls look 'lovely' and 'you should wear your hair natural.' I don't care if they say they like it, I hate it and thats what matters. No amount of compliments about 'how lovely curls look' is going to make me want them.
So you're probably wondering how on earth my hair is so straight. It's simple. I invest in a weekly blowdry.
I never wash and dry my hair by myself for a very good reason. My hair is so thick it takes ages to dry, at least 45 minutes. And what is worse is the curl. Having my hair done by a professional each week ensures my hair looks very smooth and poker straight. I cannot do it myself as I cannot get it straight as a hairdresser can. The moment I pick up a hairdryer my hair puffs out. No amount of product will stop it going like it does.
I really want my hair chemically straightened. I would love nothing more than to permanently get rid of the curl. I keep reading contradicting stories about chemical straightening. That as my hair is bleached no one will do it. Then I hear that some hairdressers will do it on my hair depending on the brand of product.
So why do I hate my curls. I just hate the way they look on me. It actually makes my face look fat and curls don't suit me. I much prefer my hair looking straight. I just don't get the fascination with curly hair, even my hairdresser hates it. She said it looks old fashioned.
So unless I can find a permanent solution to getting rid of my curls, looks like I will be sticking with my weekly blowdry.

Tangle Teezer review
My hair often gets tangled and knotted really bad, to the point where it gets quite painful to brush them out. It doesnt help that my hair is bleached and damaged. I've heard about a brush called the Tangle Teezer and seen what it can do for hair like mine. They come in a range of different colors and are available in loads of different places. I got mine in Selfridges in London for £9.99.
The brush can glide through wet or dry hair and does a great job of taking away the tangles and knots. The best thing about it is that it's painless. When I try getting rid of knots with a regular brush it's pure torture. With the Tangle Teezer I don't even blink when brushing through the knots.
This is the same product that got turned down on the tv show - Dragons Den. The people on there said it wouldn't make any money. It's now a bestseller and is worth £65 million.
It's a really simple idea and works a treat if you have badly knotted hair like mine.

L'anza Healing Strength White Tea Shampoo And Manuka Honey Conditioner
My hair was absolutely wrecked not long ago. Bleaching, sun damage and over use of straighteners really messed my hair up. I decided to invest in high end shampoo and conditioner and decided on L'anza. I have been using L'anza products for some time now and noticed the difference they made. They do shampoo for all hair types, including mine.
The shampoo and conditioner I bought was from the Healing Strength range. This range is for damaged hair like mine. The shampoo is called White Tea and the conditioner - Manuka Honey.
HEALING STRENGTH combines CP Anti Aging Complex and Keratin Healing System to strengthen hair that has become weak and brittle from chemical processing, heat and other age-accelerators. Each fortifying formula is guaranteed to reduce hair breakage. Fiber integrity is restored, resulting in stronger, shinier, healthier hair.
This shampoo and conditioner is sulphate free. That is no Sodium Lauryl Sulphate or Sodium Laureth Sulphate. I've been reading about sulphates a lot lately and after reading about them, I don't fancy using them on my hair. Not only do they dry the hair out, they also strip color and can irritate the scalp. L'anza uses natural cleansers and not the ones I mentioned above.
The shampoo contains White Tea which is one of the most potent antioxidants around. It uses Keratin Healing System and CP Anti Aging Complex to heal the hair. The conditioner contains Manuka Honey which is rich in nutrients and healing properties. It reduces breakage and boosts elasticity.
As this is a sulphate free shampoo, you don't get as much lather as you do with shampoos that contain sulphates. I always used to think that you have to get loads and loads of lather when you wash your hair. I know now that you don't need loads of lather, the shampoo is cleaning your hair. After shampooing my hair doesn't feel all dried out like a load of shampoos have done before. After using the conditioner my hair feels a lot better, even without being dried.
I have noticed a difference after using this shampoo and conditioner. The condition of my hair has improved lots and there is definitely a reduction in breakage. My hair is easier to brush through too. This shampoo and conditioner is from L'anza's luxury range of hair products and is the most expensive. L'anza do a cheaper range of products for damaged hair which I have been told are really good too. It's just this one is more luxurious. These are not cheap, but they are definitely worth it.

Stargazer Hair Mascara
I'm always experimenting with different hair colors, my favourite being bright crazy colors. Stargazer sell hair mascara in a range of different colors like bright yellow, green and pink. I've always liked hair mascara and applying these takes me back to the 90s. I got two of their hair mascaras in bright pink and yellow.
The product comes in tubes like regular mascara and has a mascara wand to apply the color with. The best way to apply this is to find a section of hair you would like to color and then run the wand through it. There was plenty of pigment in this mascara so two applications was all I needed to get bright color in my hair.
The mascars only give you temporary color that washes out in one wash. If you want something that lasts a bit longer than Crazy Color or Stargazer's Semi Permanent is better for that. I quite liked the hair mascaras as you can do a lot with them. They do make your hair feel a bit dry on the section you applied them but as it is only a one wash color it isn't that noticeable.
These mascaras usually go for about £3.00, so a good price for having bright color.
