I have been meaning to write about this product ever since I got in in one of my Lush gift sets I got for Christmas. If you are familiar with Lush you will know that they do a range of Shower Jellies and one of their Christmas themed products was the Snowman Shower Jelly.
For those of you who haven't seen a Shower Jelly before you are in for a treat. It's basically jelly for the shower and comes in a range of different colors and scents. I think it's quite a novel idea, having a shower gel in a jelly format. It definitely does take some getting used to and even after using the jellies for a few years now I'm still finding better ways to use them.
There are a few different ways you can store them - freezer, fridge or room temperature. I personally love to store these in the freezer as it gives this awesome cold blast on your skin and it is also the best way of the jelly keeping it's wobbly shape.
My jelly sort of did come apart as I was taking it out of the pot, which was a shame as I wanted to get one whole block of jelly to take in the photo. It wasn't a big deal though as the jelly is still definitely useable. As it is a Snowman jelly, you can probably guess that this one is a white color. We may not have had a white Christmas, but you can definitely have a lot of fun with this Snowman.
If any of you have used the Snowman Fun that came out for Christmas too, you will notice that this jelly has exactly the same scent. It's a really nice citrus one and smells really nice and fresh.
When I first started using these jellies I did think the best way to use them was to break a bit off a use it from there. It's fine to do that, but the only problem I find is it can get quite tricky to break the bit off you want.
I've found it to be much easier to use the product as a whole and use it that way. It still may be slippery to use but you get much better control of it when using it just as one. Jelly and water make very slippery conditions, so hold on to it as best as you can.
As a shower gel it works really well and lathers up easily. After using it I do feel nice and clean which is the important thing.
Lush often bring out limited edition jellies so keep an eye out for the different ones they release. At the moment they have this awesome Easter Bunny one which is actually shaped like a bunny.
i love lush shower jellies! my favourite is The Joy of Jelly, which translated name in italian is: Sex and with Pleasure, lol! this one really looks like a melting snow piece or even melting vanilla ice cream, lol! i also like to take a piece of it an use it, but i find that it's hard to take off and most of all it's, as the description says, wobbly and that means it will always jump off your hands and you'll have to try and catch it all over your shower or hot tub while it squeeshes away and you get mad!!!...lol!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen that one before. I do find the more you use it the more slippery it gets x
DeleteI need to try some Lush products. Heard a lot about them now.
ReplyDeleteYeah they make really good stuff x
DeleteI never got to try the Snowman jelly so I will keep my eyes peeled for the Easter special. I have never tried a bath jelly before!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely try them, they do take some getting used to, but once you've got the hang of them they are amazing x
DeleteI love these Jellies.
ReplyDeleteWhoosh is my favourite by far. I wanted to get into Pot of gold (I think it was called)- but I couldn't like the smell. It was sweet but not a sweet smell that I typically like. I also wanted the bat one that they brought out for Halloween :D
I didn't get that one, it sounds awesome x
DeleteI love lush products and always get some as a Christmas gift...not tried the jelly yet mind. x
ReplyDeleteThe jelly is great x
DeleteThis looks different. I don't have baths often enough to use bath bombs though as I prefer a shower. Do they do anything for use in the shower? xx
ReplyDeleteYeah this product is one for the shower x
