Christmas 2015

I know this is a bit late coming but I couldn't not do a post about Christmas. It's one of my favorite times of year and I love all the preparation that goes into it. I never get tired at looking at all the decorations, it's just a wonderful time of year.

For me Christmas always starts on Christmas Eve. This year I went to see the Peanuts Movie (which was really funny) followed by a meal in TGI Fridays at Newport Road, Cardiff.

I always enjoy going to TGI's, the food is amazing and there is really good drinks menu. They had a Christmas menu too, but I didn't like any of the things on offer. To me this year's selection was just weird. Normally their Christmas menu is just stuff from the normal menu put onto a set menu. This year was a set menu with stuff you can't get on the regular menu.

I just ordered off the regular one. To start I had Jack Daniels Wings. JD sauce is one of my favorites, it tastes amazing and they are not stingy with the sauce either. Words cannot describe how good it is. I then had chicken fingers and fries. I didn't leave any room for dessert and by the end I was feeling really full.

Before I knew it the big day had arrived and when I woke up I found that my stocking was quite full. I had some awesome stocking fillers including some MAC makeup, socks and these jelly beans from Jelly Belly called Bean Boozled. This is a really interesting idea and is also available in a game as well as individual packs. You basically get two identical beans, one is a nice flavor while the other ones isn't so nice. Stinky Socks looks just like Tutti Frutti.

Under the tree was a load of presents wrapped

And unwrapped

I got a lot of awesome stuff including new PJ's, makeup and skincare. I got quite a bit from Lush too as well as the new Urban Decay Spectrum palette. I also got the new 007 fragrance for men called Seven. I quite like some of the male fragrances and have no problem wearing them. At the moment I'm loving all these adult coloring books that are available, I got a good selection of those as well as some nice pens and pencils to go with them.

It would have taken me ages to photograph every single item so i've just done one big photo. Here are some of the awesome gifts I got this year.

Christmas is a time for eating a lot. I'm not a traditional person and don't actually like Christmas dinner (shock horror). When I tell people this I see a horrified look on their face. You have to have a traditional christmas dinner, they tell me, it's tradition!!

In actual fact I hate it, I would only eat the turkey anyway as I don't like any of the other stuff that goes with it. Itt's too much fuss cooking it all and what is the point if you don't like it anyway. It's a free country and I am free to eat whatever I want. This year I had an Indian Christmas dinner. Chicken Jalfrezi, Tikka Masala, Rice, Naan Bread and Poppadoms, heaven!!

For dessert were two different types of cakes from Marks And Spencer. The Penguin Party cake which was this really awesome Igloo with sponge inside. There was even a penguin design on the actual cake, how awesome is that. Standing by the Igloo were a couple of penguins. The cake tasted amazing.

The other cake I had was this chocolate tree trunk yule log. It looked fab and tasted amazing too. Some yule logs can be really sickly, not this one.

Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a load of chocolate too.

My Christmas was amazing and I had a fab time. How was yours, did Santa bring you anything nice?

  1. Looks like you had a great Christmas! Good idea with the Indian - I agree! Hehe. We have done that a few times in years gone by. But now we keep it simple! Quorn roast, spuds and veg. And some cake.

Lol no Christmas is complete without Snow Fairy ;-)

Aye we had a good one! I got lots of nail polish and a fancy camera for taking better photos on my polish for my blogs. I will be featuring it soon lol!

  2. Traditions are what you make of them not what is forced on you. I quite like the sound of Indian food for Christmas, will have to remember that for next year.

  5. Looks like you had an awesome Christmas. I'm glad you had what you wanted for Christmas dinner, there's no need to have a roast dinner if you don't enjoy them. The deserts look lovely, we tend to make a lot of them ourselves as I love baking, this year I did lemon drizzle cake, Mississippi mud pie and a giant Reeces Peanut Butter Cup- yum! x

  7. Heading towards Christmas this year! Decorations and ideas of a real grand treat are in our list now. Budget is decided and all other menu for dinner too. I think one of the nearly located NYC venues would be the most reliable place. Sweets and ice creams will be of five to six varieties. Will ask bout drinks from all friends once.
