Last year MAC released a collection of palettes called The Girls. Earlier this month I was in Gatwick Duty Free and noticed at the MAC counter they had a few of these palettes.
I really liked the look of Rockin Rebel which features 9 colors in mainly blue and green tones. The palettes look great and have a really fun design on them. The only thing I think MAC could have done better was to lose the plastic insert they have over the colors with the color names on. This is the sort of thing you find in really cheap palettes, not something you would expect from MAC. I don't get why they couldn't have just printed the color names into the palette.
Rant over. The colors look amazing and it is really easy to create a look that stands out with this palette. I used the highlight shade - Let It Rock as a base color and then applied all other colors on top. I put Gilty As Can Be up into the crease and applied Rockin Rebel into the inner corner. I then blended Denim Genies into Rockin Rebel and all over the eye, before blending out. Blk-Ish made a really good liner.
I found the pigment was very good and the colors blended nicely too. By wearing my Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer I made sure it didn't crease and stayed on all day.

Too Faced Life's A Festival Collection
Earlier this year Too Faced released this amazing festival themed collection called Life's A Festival. It is all about peace, love and unicorns. With this collection you can be festival chic in party ready iridescent formulas and rainbow colors. I grabbed myself some goodies from the collection a few months ago and have only just gotten around to blogging about them all.
The collection was a good size and featured a range of different products including this fantastic eyeshadow palette and a rainbow highlighter.
From the collection I got the Life's A Festival Eyeshadow Palette, Unicorn Horn Highlighting Stick, Magic Crystal Lip Topper and Rainbow Strobe Highlighter.
Unicorn Horn Highlighting Stick
Available in both Unicorn Tears and Unicorn Dreams this highlighter is inspired by the magical horn of the Unicorn. It's basically a creamy stick highlighter with this really nice creamy formula that glides on the skin and blends nicely. It's really buildable too and gives the face this amazing glow. I got Unicorn Tears which is blue toned.
Magical Crystal Lip Topper
This is basically a holographic lip gloss that shifts in color and changes in the light. It is designed to be worn on top of lipstick to change the color, although it can be worn on it's own. Available in 4 different shades - Angel Tears, Fairy Tears, Unicorn Tears and Mermaid Tears. I went for Mermaid, which is a green toned gloss. I wore this on top of a lipstick and wasn't that fussed on it. I'm going to try wearing it on it's own to see what it looks like.
Rainbow Strobe Highlighter
This has to be one of my favorite products from the collection. It's an all over magical highlighter and gives your skin that nice rainbow effect glow. I loved to swirl my brush in the color to create this awesome prismatic effect. The pigment in this one is amazing and gave my face a fab glow.
Life's A Festival Eyeshadow Palette
This awesome palette is jam packed full of colors guaranteed to stand out. It has a mix of duo chromatics, creamy mattes and pearlescent shades. It also contains the Unicorn Tears highlighter for face and eyes. I loved to wear this as a base color and for a highlight under the brows. Each color is very pigmented and blends like a dream. If you love colors that stand out you will love this palette. Plus it comes in this super cute packaging that looks like a rainbow.
The Life's A Festival Collection is a really fun one to check out and I highly recommend it. Too Faced counters may have sold out of most of this, but the website still has some products left.

New MUA Palettes
I have been a fan of MUA's eyeshadow palettes for some time now and I have noticed that they have brought a few new ones out. The two I liked the look of when I was shopping in Superdrug were the Cosmic Vixen and Color Burst palettes. Cosmic Vixen features more purple and pink tones, while Color Burst is full of super bright colors guaranteed to make your eyes stand out. The color choice in each palette is amazing and they both feature a mix of matte and shimmer shades.
Out of the two I didn't really have a favorite as they both were fantastic. The pigment in each is very good and even the mattes have a nice texture to them. Some palettes have matte shades that come out very dry and powdery, not these ones.
Now when it comes to blending, I just love to blend. Especially when given a really good color choice to work with. With both palettes I was able to easily blend the colors and create some really nice colorful looks. Plus by using my Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer my eyeshadow stayed on all day without creasing.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Sugar Glow Kit
If you love your face to glow then I highly recommend the Sugar Glow Kit from Anastasia Beverly Hills. This palette features 4 highlighters guaranteed to give your skin an awesome glow. I have a few of these glow kits from the same brand and I just love them. The pigment in them is amazing and this one is no exception.
Each color in the palette is named very appropriately for a sugar themed product. In this one you will find Marshmallow, Gumdrop, Butterscotch and Starburst. I didn't have to use a lot of each color to get it to show up on my face as they were all very pigmented. They also had this nice soft texture to them which meant they went on a dream.
Out of them all I didn't have a favorite, but I really did like Marshmallow as it looked amazing on. A bonus, they didn't fade either.
If you haven't tried the glow kits from Anastasia Beverly Hills, I really recommend them as you won't be disappointed.

New Chocolate Bars From I Heart Revolution
Recently, I Heart Makeup changed it's name to I Heart Revolution. If you are familiar with the brand Makeup Revolution you will know that I Heart Makeup was it's sister brand. It looks like these last few months it has been changing some of it's brands. Freedom is no more and is now Revolution Pro. The same has happened to I Heart Makeup and has now become I Heart Revolution. They still bring out the same fantastic products at great prices.
I'm a really big fan of their chocolate bar eyeshadow palettes. And the guy behind the brands, Adam Minto also known as Mister Makeup, has given plenty of sneak peeks on his Instagram of what we can look forward to. Check him out at @adam_minto70. There are at least 3 more chocolate bars coming which look good enough to eat. When I was in Superdrug I picked up Violet Chocolate and Chocolate Orange.
I Heart Revolution/Makeup has really upped itself from when it first started. The one thing I've noticed about their newest palettes is that the color shades are actually written on the actual palette rather than on a plastic sheet. The Chocolate Orange palette still has a sheet but the Violet Chocolate one has it written on the palette. I much prefer this, plastic sheets are not only annoying but having it written on the palette does make it look more high end too.
Both palettes had a good amount of pigment in them, plus a fantastic color selection. Blending was easy too, even the matte shades blended nicely. Chocolate Orange has more warmer tones in it, while Violet Chocolate has cooler tones. Out of the two Violet Chocolate has to be my favorite as I prefer the cooler shades, plus purple is my favorite eyeshadow color to wear.
I just love these palettes and really look forward to trying the other ones that are coming out too.
Here are the looks I created with both palettes.
