Urban Decay Vice Metal Meets Matte Lipstick Palette

Lipstick palettes are that one product I wish more brands would release. Almost every brand brings out an eyeshadow palette but when it comes to lipstick palettes not a lot of brands bring them out. Last year Urban Decay released a lipstick palette called Vice Metal Meets Matte. Santa actually brought me this at Christmas and I have loved using it.

Top - Banger, Amulet, Fast Talk, Big Bang, Mad, Spark
Bottom - CSB, Tame, Backtalk, Double Team, Shallow, 714

The packaging is very nice and hardwearing and inside are 12 different lipsticks in a range of different finishes. The colors are protected by a plastic cover that opens which says 'Lipstick is my vice.' Another bonus is the really good quality retractable lip brush that is included.

The great thing about this palette is there are a wide range of colors to suit everyone from neutral to dramatic. The palette is also very compact too meaning you can carry it around with you and isn't at all heavy.

I like neutrals when wearing a dark eyeshadow, although I am a fan of lipsticks that do stand out. If like me you love your color, this palette is definitely for you as you will love colors such as CSB, Shallow and Spark. For the fan of neutrals, Amulet, Tame, Backtalk and Fast Talk will definitely suit you.

I wasn't a fan of the glossy lip colors in this palette. Fortunately there are more non glossy than glossy. I loved Big Bang as a color, but didn't like the glossy finish. My favorite color had to be Shallow.

The non gloss finish lipsticks do stay on for quite some time and are very comfortable to wear. The gloss ones probably do stay on for a while but I didn't keep them on long enough to see.

W7 On The Rocks Palette

Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette had to be one of the biggest makeup product disasters for a while. Last year everyone was so excited for this palette called Subculture from Anastasia Beverly Hills. But when people actually tried the palette hardly anyone liked it. Colors were very hard to blend and had a powdery finish to them with massive fallout. You just swirled a brush into the color and the fallout was just insane. It was actually a shame as the colors did look very nice. Before it's release I was actually thinking of getting the palette myself, but didn't bother after looking at reviews.

Fortunately there are dupes for Subculture available and the closest dupe I have seen to it is the On The Rocks Palette by W7. W7 is a budget brand from England that often has dupes for other brands. I had noticed they had released a dupe for Subculture and I was really looking forward to trying it.

Top - Sugar Rim, Moscato, Martini Olive, Espresso Martini, Maraschino Cherry, Cheers, Caracao
Bottom - Body Shot, Champagne Toast, Bloody Mary, Bellini, Magnum, Pina Colada, Last Call

On The Rocks comes in hard card packaging along with an actual eyeshadow brush. It really does make a nice difference not to have those sponge applicators. I haven't actually used the brush as I prefer to use my other eyeshadow brushes. In this palette you will find 14 colors in a mix of matte and shimmer. All colors are not for the faint hearted as these colors really do stand out. If you love playing with color this is the palette for you.

I was really interested to see how this palette would turn out. In the matte shades I  swirled my brush into the color, exactly how people swirled their brush into Subculture. I was pleasantly surprised, there wasn't that much fallout from the color and they didn't feel very dry or powdery either. As for pigment, this palette was quite good. I didn't have to use a lot to get the colors to show up and I didn't have to build them up either. There was no creasing or fading either. I was also able to blend the colors too fairly easy.

My favorite colors in the palette were Last Call, Pina Colada, Magnum, Bellini, Maraschino Cherry and Caracao.

If you are looking for a good alternative to Subculture I would recommend this one as it really isn't that bad. It also seems to do a lot better than Subculture too as the colors don't have that much fallout either. Plus it was only £12.95.

If like me you love color, you will have a lot of fun with this palette.

Too Faced White Chocolate Bar

Too Faced's White Chocolate Bar is one of the latest Chocolate themed palettes the brand have released. I got the White Chocolate Bar Palette for Christmas and have loved using it. There are plenty of colors to choose from in a mix of matte and shimmer, 16 to be precise. It comes in packaging that looks exactly like a chocolate bar, so good I could eat it right now. What's even better is it actually has cocoa powder in it, giving it that amazing chocolate scent.

Top - Mint Chocolate, Glaze, Cake Batter, Exotica, Chocolate Syrup
Middle - Pearl Candy, Raspberry Rose, Indulge, Lavender Cake, Guilt Free, Smoked Sea Salt
Bottom - Frosted Apricot, Cookie Dough, Sugared Raisin, Black Sugar, Banana Date

With so many fantastic colors to choose from it can be tricky deciding what to start with. I liked using the paler shades such as Banana Date and Glaze as base colors and then layered other colors on top. Pearl Candy is an amazing white shimmer and makes a very good highlighter. The mattes in this palette are very good and are very blendable and don't feel at all dry or powdery. Pigment is insane and I didn't need to use a lot to get the colors to show up. They didn't crease or fade either and stayed on all day. My favorite colors were Lavender Cake, Black Sugar, Pearl Candy and Raspberry Rose.

Too Faced Chocolate Gold Palette

I just love Too Faced's Chocolate Bar palettes and for Christmas I got the new Chocolate Gold Palette. This one has to be my favorite out of all the chocolate bar palettes as the packaging just feels so luxe and the colors in it look amazing. As soon as I opened the box I noticed how high end the packaging looked and it felt very fancy too.

The Chocolate Gold Palette features 16 colors in a mix of matte and shimmer. Although there are more shimmers than mattes in this palette. Each color has an insane amount of pigment in it, along with a really soft texture too which makes blending a dream.

Out of all of the colors in the palette, my favorites have to be Chocolate Gold (Gold) and New Money (Pink). I really enjoyed blending the colors together to create one unique look. I highly recommend this palette as it is definitely worth the money, the quality is fantastic and it just looks amazing too.

Chocolate Gold, Famous, Holla For A Dollar
New Money, Decadent
New Money, Living Lavish
