Laura Mercier Eye Chromes Palette

I was browsing at the Laura Mercier counter in John Lewis the other day and found a limited edition eyeshadow palette that was right up my street. It has these lovely shimmery colors in it. I wear these sorts of colors a lot so I had to get myself one. Another bonus, the names of colors are printed into the palette. A lot of the time many brands put the names on the back or in one of those plastic overlay things. It looks so much better having them printed into the palette. The colors in this one are called - Iced Nickel (silver), Purple Chrome (purple), Blue Steel (dark blue) and Aluminum Grey (Grey black). This was £32.00

The colors have amazing pigment in them and have a lovely soft texture to them. They apply really easily too and you don't need a lot to get the color to show up. There are so many ways you can wear these colors, I just wore them all together to create a really dramatic look. The color looked awesome and once it was on it didn't crease or fade. This palette is definitely one for those who like something dramatic.

Urban Decay, Elemis, Ghd Event. John Lewis Cardiff

I got myself a ticket for an event by Urban Decay, Elemis and Ghd in John Lewis, Cardiff. Tickets were £10, and fully redeemable against items purchased on the evening. I went to this on Friday. Another great thing, the brands were donating money to a breast cancer charity. So the money went to a good cause.

The event was held in a room off the shop floor. Waiting for us were refreshments along with people from Ghd, Elemis and Urban Decay. Yes, Urban Decay now have a counter in John Lewis now. There was complimentary hair styling, facials or hand massages and mini makeovers available.

First I got my hair done by a stylist at Ghd. I love my hair poker straight so the stylist was able to get my hair looking like that and really smooth too. I don't have the Ghd stylers at home, but have had them used on my hair loads of times. The end results are amazing.

At Elemis, I decided to go for a facial. I've tried Elemis before and love their range of skincare. There is something for most skin types. The mini facials were nice and quick and gave us a feel for what the products were like. Elemis offer full treatments in their treatment room on the shop floor where you can have a really nice facial.

As I said earlier Urban Decay now have a counter at John Lewis and on the night they were on hand to give mini makeovers. The counter has been open for a couple of weeks now and I really had no idea UD were in John Lewis. I'm always at their Debenhams counter and go to their events. I went to their masterclass there recently for the new Naked Smoky palette and they never once mentioned a new counter open. They always love to tell you about new products coming out and what they love about different ones. So you would think they would at least tell you about how they are expanding in the South Wales area.

I do think it was very sneaky and wrong of them to not mention it. I understand they want to keep their clients from Debenhams, but come on it is the same company and it makes good customer service to tell your clients there is another place in the area where they can buy stuff. Very often it gets very busy on the Debenhams counter and can be hard to book a makeover on the day you want. They sometimes run out of the item you need too, meaning you have to order it online or wait until they get more in. Having another counter nearby means a better chance of getting what you want if the other one doesn't have it. The John Lewis counter on the other hand is much quieter and I actually prefer it. The service there seems more personal as it's less busy. The John Lewis counter is now my preference for shopping at Urban Decay in Cardiff.

As I had done all of my eye makeup earlier I just went for a face makeover at the event. I have quite a bit of Urban Decay stuff so I did like looking at stuff I don't have. I had my makeup done by Kate who did an awesome job. I really liked how she did my makeup and will be going back to the counter.

I really enjoyed the event and had a great time. I love these sorts of events as you can try all sorts of new things. I also got a goody bag with quite a few samples in it.

Lush Summer 2015 Blogger Goodies

I went to Lush's Summer blogger event in Cardiff last week. The events are always fab and they usually give an amazing goody bag too. In this post I will be reviewing the items that Lush gave me. I had three full size products, which is amazing as some companies usually just give samples. I'm really happy that these ones are proper sized items. I got Salted Coconut Hand Scrub, Yoga Bomb Bath Bomb and Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Creme.

Salted Coconut Hand Scrub
This is my favorite item out of the three. Earlier this year I went to the Lush store in Oxford Street, London and got myself a tub of this. I fell in love with the product right away and i'm glad it's now available in the store in Cardiff. I'm glad Lush gave me a tub of this as you can never have too much of this product. Check out my review here.

Yoga Bomb Bath Bomb
I just love Lush Bath Bombs. They give off the most amazing colors when you drop them into water and the scent is usually awesome too. This gives off a really nice citrus scent and once put into water gives off orange, purple and green colors. Once the water is swished about it goes a really nice orange color.

Yuzu And Cocoa Shower Creme
This is a nice yellow colored shower creme which has this amazing scent of chocolate orange. It smells so good I could eat it and just makes me want to grab some chocolate. As it's a shower creme and not a gel, it has a much more creamier, softer texture to it. It still gives a good bit of lather, while smelling awesome.

All products were supplied free of charge by Lush. All comments are completely independent of the company and are my own personal opinions. Thanks Lush.

Dior 5 Couleurs Cosmopolite - Electric

From the Dior Fall collection I decided to get one of their 5 color eyeshadow palettes. I love Dior eyeshadows, the colors are fantastic. From the Fall collection, are two new limited edition palettes. The one I got is Electric. This is a palette with purples, green and silver colors in it. I really love the limited edition design that is printed in to the colors. It has Dior printed into the color, the letters are laid out in a sort of abstract way. This was £42.00.

I liked this palette best out of the two in the collection. This one definitely has my sorts of colors and you can go very dramatic with this one. The other one is great too, I just prefer this one. The way I used this one was to take the light pink color and use it as a base all over the eyes. I applied the two purple colors on top and blended the green into the outer corners. To give my eyes a bit of sparkle, I put a bit of the silver into the inner corner.

The pigment in the colors is fab and the letters don't really disappear as you use the eyeshadow. Blending was really easy too and I didn't have to use a lot to build to color up. Once they were on they stayed on and didn't crease.

This is a great palette for the winter months coming, or for those who like something dramatic all year round.

Lush Summer 2015 Blogger Event Cardiff

Yesterday I went to a bloggers event in Lush Cardiff, that I got invited to. I always enjoy Lush events as they are always really fun. Last night's event was all about the new summer products that Lush have brought out, along with products from their Oxford Street store in London. I'm really glad that some of the Oxford Street exclusives have now made their way to Cardiff. I love Lush's Salted Coconut hand scrub. Now I can get it without having to go all the way to London.

Waiting for us bloggers, were some drinks, biscuits and for those trying to be healthy - fruit.

For Summer there are some really amazing products, including new soaps, bath bombs, bubble bars and more. Everyone at the event had someone from Lush take them around the store and tell them all about the individual products. It was sort of like a personal shopper and it was great. I enjoyed checking out all the new stuff and learning how to use them.

The new bath products are amazing and really fun. The colors look awesome. I especially liked Frozen and The Experimenter bath bombs.

Check out the shimmer in Frozen

The Experimenter actually contains popping candy

The new soaps have the most awesome scent to them. The one that interested me the most was Devil's Nightcap. It has this mossy, straw like stuff on it that looks awesome. For Summer, Lush have brought out new shower jellies and shower gels. The one I liked the most was The Comforter, which has the same scent as The Comforter Bubble Bar. I was really disappointed to see that Grass shower gel had been discontinued. I loved Grass. it was an amazing product and actually reminded me of those summer days when the grass is being cut.

Not forgetting skin. Lush have brought out a product called Cup O Coffee. It's a face mask which actually smells like coffee. I love Lush skincare and I just couldn't resist trying this on my hand. It has a really nice scrubby feel to it too and the scent was just awesome. They have also launched new foot, body and hand products too.

Lush always do a really good goody bag at these events. They're not stingy either and give you proper sized products and not a load of samples. In my goody bag I got Yuzu And Cocoa shower gel, Salted Coconut hand scrub and Yoga Bomb bath bomb. I absolutely love Salted Coconut and have a big pot of it that I bought in London. I'm really glad to have another pot of it as I love using it and you can't have too much of it.

I also bought some goodies too. I decided to get - Granny Takes A Dip Bubble Bar, Frozen Bath Bomb, The Experimenter Bath Bomb, Pumice Power Foot Soap, Enchanted Eye Cream and Breath Of God Solid Perfume.

I really enjoyed the event and trying on all the new stuff. Thanks Lush.
